Burn Notice Star Arrested, Refuses Breathalyzer
July 21, 2009Thousands of people of arrested for DUI, but if you’re a celebrity, it’s going to make the news. The star of USA Network’s hit “Burn Notice” is the latest to have his mug shot front and center.
According to reports, Actor Jeffrey Donovan charged with DUI in Miami Beach after swerving his vehicle to avoid hittingĀ a police cruiser stopped at a red light. The officer observed Donovan to appear under the influence of alcohol and performed a roadside sobriety test.
Donovan refused a breathalyzer. In the state of California, refusal to take a breathalyzer test means the defendant looses his license for a year — regardless of conviction.
He was arrested and released hours later. DUIs in most California jails are very similar. Even before jail overcrowding, when someone is arrested for DUI with no prior convictions and no accident has occurred, defendants are generally booked and released when they are sober.

Not sure what parallel universe these “stars” think they’re living in, but boy they make some silly decisions! Why can’t these celebrities (with all their money) take cabs or hire drivers when they party????
