Richmond Arrest A Dog Problem Or Hate Problem?
August 27, 2009
Certain happenings in life trigger harbored feelings. Dog parks are filled with unruly pets, it’s an accepted situation when you visit them. Not all dogs have “parents” that are willing to put in the time to provide discipline. But perhaps anything could have set off David Triebwasser of Richmond who reportedly struck a while shouting racial slurs. Maybe it really comes down to the fact that the other person in the scuffle was black. What if the other unruly dog owner was a white guy, a cute white girl, an old white lady, you get the idea. Would he have reacted that way?
Triebwasser is out on a $175K bail from the Martinez jail. He faces charges of assault and a hate crime. Richmond Police and a team of homicide investigators are still looking in to the case.
I’ve visited dog parks and had my perfectly disciplined dogs mauled by other dogs, I calmly split the them up and smiled at the other dog owner and went on my way. It’s a situation that is easily dealt with when you are understanding and objective. Triebwasser has some thinking to do about his harbored anger and he might just get the time to do this in a cell.
