San Diego Charger Shawne Merriman was arrested early Sunday morning and taken to the San Diego Men’s Central Jail. According to the San Diego Untion Tribune, San Diego Sheriff Deputies were called to the Poway home of linebacker Merriman in the post-bar hours of Sunday morning.

There they found Merriman and “reality star” Tila (Tequila) Nguyen in the driveway where, accounts indicate, Nguyen was clearly intoxicated. “Tila Tequila” as she’s known is – or was- Merriman’s girlfriend. She had signed a citizen’s arrest alleging false imprisonment and battery against Merriman and insisted on his arrest and her transportation to a hospital. Both occurred and she was released without injury.

According to a press release from Merriman, he indicates he has not been charged and was restraining Nguyen from driving under the influence. Seems reasonable to me.
