Los Angeles Police Arrest 2 As Craigslist Ads Lead to Robbery
October 19, 2009In this day and age, posting an honest ad to do honest work can sometimes lead to precarious and dangerous scenarios. Case and point, four Los Angeles message therapists on two separate occasions placed ads on Craigslist for their services. Upon scheduling appointments, they were robbed by two bad parolees instead of two nice paying patrons.
It happened on September 28th and again on October 2nd, after the two parolees made false appointments through the Craigslist ads. One of the men (posing as a client) brandished a gun prior to forcing the victims to open the door for the second perpetrator. The victims were then lead to a bedroom where they were restrained with bedsheets while the bad guys ripped off their electronics and cash.
Los Angeles police have arrested 24-year old, Pierre Morris and 22-year-old, Aaron O’Connor each on four charges of robbery. They are currently being held at the Los Angeles County Jail.
Kinda’ makes you want to do a background check on people who answer your ads – before giving them your home address… Hmm?

It’s only a matter of time before Craigslist is seriously altered, dissolved, or starts charging people. I bet abuse and misuse of Craigslist hits every metropolitan market in the entire country. That’s sad because practically speaking (for honest people that is), it is an AWESOME resource!
