Ex-LAPD Officer Held on $100,000 Bail After O.C. Church Burglary
November 28, 2009Too much temptation at a church has led to the arrest of a former LAPD officer turned security guard. According to an Orange County Sheriff’s spokesperson, Charles Mottern of Irvine, age 45 was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, and evading and resisting arrest.
In August of 2008, Mottern worked at the Saddleback Church as a security guard, when church officials started to notice items like cash, cameras, computers and radios missing.
Thursday, security guards responded to a burglary in progress but were unable to pursue the thief. They noticed the suspect take off in a vehicle described as a black BMW. They turned that information over to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s investigators obtained a warrant on Mottern’s home. Later, they saw him driving the very same black BMW, however he drove off and escaped.
He was later pulled over where he attempted to flee on foot but was tasered by officers and arrested. Jim Amormino, Sheriff’s spokesman stated that Mottern was also in possession of false police credentials.
Mottern is scheduled to appear at the Harbor Justice Center Nov. 30th and is currently being held on $100,000 bail.

One has to wonder whether this former officer has been on a steady decent toward rock bottom, or if he was a dirtbag all the while.

Let me tell you from personal knowledge and experience with this man..he is a horrible person who has been involved in similar activities since at least 1991, but it was swept under the rug when my family tried to report it!
