Redmond O’Neal L.A. County Jail Bound Again
January 6, 2010Redmond O’Neal, son of the late Charlie’s Angels actress Farrah Fawcett and film actor Ryan O’Neal, was returned to jail after violating his probation for a series of drug offenses.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Tynan sentenced O’Neal to a 30-day, in-custody drug-treatment program thanks to his inability to stay clean. O’Neal remains in jail without bail pending a February 2nd hearing.
Judge Tynan warned Redmond that he would go to state prison for six years if he violated his probation, back in November. “It actually strikes me that you haven’t got a clue as to what recovery means. It is a lifelong commitment and it’s grinding, hard, painful work,” Tynan told O’Neal. “You’ve got one responsibility and that’s to yourself — to get clean and sober.”
O’Neal was on a 24 hour pass from a rehab center – his first since being admitted in September. Upon his return, he told program counselors that he had used drugs. LA County Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore confirmed that the young man did test positive.
O’Neal is currently incarcerated at Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles, where he is classified as a “keep-away” – which means he is kept away from the general jail population due to his celebrity status.
O’Neal was also arrested last year on a heroin possession charge during a routine security check in the parking lot of the Pitchess Detention Center. He was originally sentenced to three years formal probation and a six-year suspended sentence stemming from that case.
This is the latest in a series of setbacks for Farrah Faucett’s son. The actress died on June 25 of last year after a long battle with cancer. O’Neal, who was temporarily released from jail so he could attend her funeral, later entered a drug rehab program.
Fawcett left nearly all of her $6 million estate him, but she also appointed two trustees, stating in her will that she wanted “to make sure the money supports her son’s journey into sobriety, rather than giving him the means to destroy himself.”
Redmond O’Neal is no stranger to drugs. Back in September 2008, both he and his father, Ryan O’ Neal, were charged with felony drug possession after the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department allegedly found methamphetamine in the actor’s bedroom and on Redmond.
Drug addiction has hounded the entire O’Neal family. Redmond’s sister, academy award winning actress Tatum O’Neal, is also a recovering addict.
Addiction is serious business. We’ve heard that others that the Waismann Method has helped with oxycontin detox and vicodin detox, providing safe, confidential and effective rapid drug detox from OxyContin, Vicodin, Methadone, Suboxone, Tramadol, Norco, Hydrocodone, Heroin, prescription painkillers and all opiate addictions. We wish the best for the O’Neal family, too.

His story is very sad…Tough celebrity life he’s lived and the pain of losing his mom must be overwhelming. Even though it seems he keeps screwing up, you still have to root for the kid.
