4 Arrested While Visiting Bakersfield Jail

April 1, 2010

Recently, Bakersfield jail deputies arrested four jail visitors for committing a felony on jail grounds. In three separate incidents, deputies also discovered three visitors who were known felons on jail grounds, the Kern County Sheriff’s Department admitted.

Three individuals have criminal records, and are therefore banned from visiting jails and violated the law by coming anyway. Deputies also searched the visitors’ cars and discovered more incriminating contraband soon after their arrest.

A fourth visitor was found with a small amount of marijuana, a marijuana pipe, and a bottled alcoholic beverage. She was immediately charged with possession of a drug other than a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia while on jail grounds.

The four violators were booked into the Central Receiving Facility. It will be interesting to see if they will be allowed to have any visitors, during their incarceration.
