Los Angeles Jail Turns On ‘Intolerable Heat’
Written by 888BailBond Bondsman on August 31, 2010 – 11:19 am -Los Angeles jail officials and staff are planning to test out a new form of technology produced by the military as a weapon at the LA County Castaic Jail. This innovative tool is an invisible beam of heat that will produce “intolerable heat” to those whom it is beamed on.
The heat-beam is officially known as an Assault Intervention Device developed by Raytheon Company. It is said to be harmless and the one inside the L.A. jail is scaled down considerably.
The device works by emitting a beam, focused on the wave of energy that is traveling at the speed of light to produce an intolerable heat sensation that advertently will cause those in it’s line of fire to move. Once the individual has moved away from the beam, all heat sensations cease to exist.

Castaic Jail Brawl Still Under Investigation
Written by Robin Sandoval-March on August 26, 2010 – 6:24 am -CASTAIC, CA — 20 inmates along with 2 deputies were treated for minor injuries, when a widespread scuffle broke out at the Castaic, Pitchess Detention Center South Jail at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
At least 200 inmates threw rocks and other items at Sheriff deputies, forcing them to retreat. They also vandalized the barracks at the facility. According to L.A. County spokesman Steve Whitmore, what sparked the fracas is still unclear.

Redwood City’s Jail Plan Causes Fight

Due to jail overcrowding, a new San Mateo County jail is proposed to be built at cost around $150 million dollars and city leaders are worried that a new jail might put a damper on businesses and developers.

Man Dies After Being Tasered in Santa Rita Jail
Written by Robin Sandoval-March on August 19, 2010 – 11:40 am -An Oakland man who was hospitalized Monday has died after being shocked twice by Tasers while in custody at the Santa Rita Jail. Alameda County Sheriff spokesman, Sgt. J.D. Nelson stated that 50-year-old, Martin Harrison succumbed at approximately 5 a.m.

LASD Arrests 43 Pasadena Gang Members
Written by 888BailBond Bondsman on August 12, 2010 – 1:03 pm -Chief Neal Tyler of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department announced that 43 gang members had been arrested. Originally a Pasadena area gang, they had extended their operation into Antelope Valley, which is where the arrest occurred.
The resulting arrests took place due to a partnership operation involving several different police forces. In total, approximately 400 police officers helped to perform the arrests, which included the help from; Antelope Valley Crime Fighting Initiative, California State Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation, Los Angeles County Probation Department, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department-Operation Safe Streets Bureau, United States Drug Enforcement Administration Mobile Enforcement Team, and United States Drug Enforcement Administration High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force.

Escondido’s Former Police Station Goes Hi-Tech?

Four Plead Guilty to Ties in Bail Bond Investigation

Six years later, 4 people, including a son of a sheriff, plead guilty to performing inappropriate bail bond practices in San Bernardino County.
Both, Shirley Tidwell and her husband, Danial “Boone” Tidwell, after pleading guilty to the misdemeanor charges, were sentenced to three years probation and a fine. Prison for L.A. Deputy Who Smuggled Drugs into Castaic Jail

But whichever way you think of it, you can never really grasp why a 2-year veteran Los Angeles Deputy would smuggle, get this — 161.5 grams of heroin, 51.5 grams of marijuana and 24.4 grams of methamphetamine into the North County Correctional Facility, Castaic jail, and think he’d get away with it.

Huntington Beach PD is Cracking Down on DUI’s
Written by 888BailBond Bondsman on August 1, 2010 – 12:43 pm -Due to the significant problem with drunk drivers in the area, the Huntington Beach Police Department has submitted a report that adds new aggressive measurements to crack down on the DUI problem.
The Huntington Beach area statistically showed that in 2008 they had the third most cases for arresting DUI offenders. Over the past three years, the Huntington Beach Police Department has made over 1,700 DUI arrests each year.
The 16-page report lays out a plan to introduce a new specialized DUI officer to their team, sending letters of notification to restaurants that they feel are enabling drunk drivers and posting the names of DUI offenders onto their website.
LT. Russell Reinhart, and police spokesman for Huntington Beach, said that their DUI program is the most aggressive in the county. However, police still think they need more help.
Presently, Huntington Beach officers four to eight DUI checkpoints each year, as well as they have a DUI task team. They use helicopters in obtaining DUI drivers, and on Friday and Saturday evenings, they add extra policemen for patrolling. They’ve also received $1.4 million in grant money to be able to add more police officers to their patrolling.
