September 1, 2011

Drinking & DrivingWhat does it take to get a DUI? Well, take your precautions this weekend and each time you drive. Additionally, the Daily News has published Sobriety¬†(“DUI”) checkpoints for the Los Angeles Police Department for Labor Day Weekend:

- Venice Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Wilshire Area
- Topanga Boulevard and Califa Street in Topanga Area

Saturday, September 3, 2011 – Sobriety Checkpoint from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

If you’re going to be drinking, please plan accordingly. Remember, the police are looking for “impared” driving or “driving under the influence” — litterally. Buzzed driving is going to get you in just as much trouble.

  1. Jeff Downer Bail Bondsman Says:

Here in Indianapolis law enforcement also will announce checkpoint locations ahead of time and it doesn’t seem to make a difference. They still arrest just as many impaired drivers.

  2. Tonya Rynerson Says:

True here, too, Jeff. I don’t think most people 1) look to find out where they are set up; 2) think they are impaired. It takes so little to get nabbed. Most of them also OR, unless there is a high BAC, accident or priors.

  3. bail bonds las vegas Says:

I don’t see any announced checkpoints out in Las Vegas either. But doesn’t announcing them kind of defeat the point anyway? And yes the OR everyone out here unless you cause a 7 car pile-up or start a police chase.

  4. DUI Attorney Says:

Expect the unexpected. For sure more drivers are driving while intoxicated on that day.
