The PBUS Annual Winter Conference is set to kick off later this month. This year’s event will feature a new venue and will be focused on pretrial release campaigns.
Conference organizers said the venue has switched from the Flamingo Hotel and Casino to the Mirage Hotel and Casino. The property, they said, is world-class. The restaurants are second to none, the rooms are fantastic, and the overall layout of the hotel, casino and conference center is anticipate to well serve the needs of PBUS Winter Conference speakers and attendees.
The 2013 program will focus heavily on pretrial release programs and commercial bail, and will highlight some of the challenges that pretrial release programs are placing on the commercial bail industry. The PBUS believes this is an issue that bondsmen from through the country are facing. Speakers will help “arm members” to better respond to attacks against the commercial bail industry. The history and effectiveness of OR release will be discussed in depth.
There will also be several other speakers that will highlight other topics. These will include internet marketing, working with the US Marshall Service, electronic skip tracing techniques and others. A PBUS spokesperson pointed out that anyone who needs to take the standard 6 CBA classes will be able to do so at the conference. A testing center will also be on site.
The goals for the 2013 PBUS Winter Conference are twofold. The first is to provide top-notch education to those who attend. Organizers are reportedly hopeful that attendees of the annual Winter Conference will leave feeling they are well equipped to fight against pretrial release programs within their community.
The second is to provide quality training and material in an atmosphere that allows attendees to have a good time.
