My Friend Was Arrested 10 Minutes Ago—How Soon Can We Post Bail Bonds?

My friend just got arrested during a traffic stop because of an outstanding warrant.  The officer took him away about 10 minutes ago. How soon can I get him out?  Can I have a bail bonds agent meet me at the jail now?

This is a very common question.  When someone is arrested they’ll need to be transported to the local jail, booked into the system and checked for warrants.  The jails will not allow, anyone to post bail bonds until their warrant check comes back. On average, it takes anywhere from 4 to 6 hours for the booking process (and warrant check) to be completed.  Even if the bondsman went to the jail this very moment, they would not be permitted to post your friend’s bail bonds for several hours.  For now, you’ll want to contact a bondsman to get the bail bonds process started.  This way the bondsman will be on standby, and they will be able to post your friend’s bail bonds as soon as the jail is ready to accept it.  For more information on how bail works call our office now at 888-224-5266 to speak with a bail bonds agent in your area.
