Some dogs are accused of eating homework, others are accused of discharging firearms.
Police in Jacksonville, Florida responded to a rather unusual crime.
A woman was shot in the leg while she was sleeping; when police arrived on scene, her boyfriend said his dog did it.
The man told the officers that he and his girlfriend were sleeping when his dog woke him up because he needed to go outside. When they came back into the home, it seems the dog may have jumped onto the nightstand.
The Huffington Post reports that the jump may have caused the man’s gun to discharge. The bullet hit his girlfriend square in the leg.
The woman said she has no idea what happened. One second she was asleep, the next she was nursing a gunshot wound.
She was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. It’s still unclear whether any charges will be filed.
