It was the best of crimes, it was the worst of crimes…
A 23-year-old Ohio man who decided to “go big” when he proposed to his girlfriend was arrested, according to a report by the Huffington Post, because the proposal involved him spray painting the words “Michelle, Marry Me, I Love You” on the wall of a shopping center.
The message took up nearly 30 feet of wall space! Not sure what he was thinking was going to happen after she answered his proposal…
His girlfriend agreed to marry him, police said, and investigators agreed to charge him for the crime. Not only did they manage to track Kyle Stump down, they arrested him for criminal mischief.
The judge said the while he appreciates the grand gesture, a more traditional type of proposal may have been more appropriate.
Stump received a 60-day suspended sentence and he’ll need to pay a $500 fine. He’ll also need to pay an additional $332 to have the graffiti removed from the wall. At least they’ll have a funny story to tell their kids one day.
