CA Police Offer to Test Meth for ‘Deadly Gluten’

“The smart ones don’t get caught.” – DEA agent

The Newark Police Department has certainly stepped up its social media game. In a post that has since gone viral, the NPD broadcast an “important public service announcement” about potentially dangerous, “gluten-laced meth.”

The Facebook post is hilarious. “Is your meth laced with deadly gluten? Not sure? Bring your meth down to the PD and we will test it for you for free!”

A spokesperson for the department said there haven’t been any takers—as of yet—but it’s worth noting that similar posts by other police departments have actually led to people bringing their drugs into the local PD.

One law enforcement agent told us that he knew of a town outside of Houston, TX that put out an ad that stating that the local meth batch was tainted with poison and if you brought your meth in they would test it for you. They actually got two different people to walk meth into the police station.”
