A 53-year-old Florida woman was arrested for DUI after allegedly riding the horse while drunk.
According to the Huffington Post, Donny Byrne was “pulled over” by Polk County Sheriff’s department deputies in the early afternoon; when they began to question her she “appeared confused” and reeked of booze.
They proceeded to give her a Breathalyzer test, and within moments they realized her breath-alcohol-level was twice the legal limit!
In a statement, Sheriff Grady Judd said the now-defendant was obviously not in any condition to be on the road. Not only did she put herself and the horse in danger, but also anyone who was driving on the road, which is typically very busy.
Byrne was arrested on suspicion of ‘driving’ while under the influence and animal neglect.
Byrne was carted off to jail; the horse was taken to the sheriff’s department animal control livestock facility.
