Anyone who has ever watched a crime-based TV show knows that most suspects try to avoid returning to the scene of the crime.
As a general rule of thumb, those who go back to the crime scene have a much higher chance of getting arrested.
It would seem that 35-year-old Jared Wilkey never got that message. According to police reports, Wilkey is accused of stealing $6,735 in cell phones from his friendly neighborhood Walmart. (The whole thing was caught on tape.)
During the first trip, he walked in with a female “spotter” who served as a lookout as he helped himself to the cell phone display case.
He then returned to the same Walmart a few days later, walked back to the display case and stole another $2,200 worth of cell phones.
But Wilkey didn’t stop there! When he returned to the store for a third time in late-October, employees recognized him and called the police.
He was arrested in the parking lot and was found to be in possession of burglary tools. He was arrested and charged with felony retail theft, possession of burglary tools, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal damage.
