A 23-year-old Florida man found himself in some pretty hot water after he punched an ATM machine for giving him too much cash.
The incident happened last November, according to a report by Fox News, when Michael Oleksik strolled up to the Wells Fargo ATM machine in hopes of taking out some money, but, for reasons that remain unknown, it gave him too much.
Now, while most people would have either 1) gone into the bank to report the mistake. 2) deposited the money back into their account. Or 3) take the money and run! However, Oleksik instead chose option four: punch the ATM.
Police told Florida Today that the man was seen on video footage “standing at the ATM, pummeling the electronic teller’s touch screen.”
The Wells Fargo branch estimates the man did about $5,000 in damage to the machine and, as such, they chose to press charges. Oleksik was booked into the county jail on criminal mischief charges.
