Arrested: Suspects try to Evade Police by Scaling Fence into Police Station Parking Lot

Every now and again we come across a “stupid crime” story that involves criminals who really took things to the next level.

This is one of those posts.

Police in Arizona say they arrested two shoplifting suspects—because during their attempted getaway, they scaled a fence and climbed into a secure police station parking lot.

You really can’t make this stuff up!

Authorities say it all started when they received a call from a gas station attendant with regard to a possible shoplifting. When they arrived, they spotted the suspects, and when the suspects spotted the police, they took off running.

At some point during the failed escape, they ran alongside a building and decided to hop a fence (mind you, a sign that read “Peoria Police” was hanging above the door of that building—but the shoplifters were not deterred).

Suffice to say, things didn’t end well for the suspects. They were arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and shoplifting.
