A Florida man has been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, police said, after he attacked his live-in-girlfriend over some missing cookies. Yes—missing chocolate chip cookies.
The 31-year-old defendant said he was looking for his favorite snack, and he got very, very mad when he realized the house was fresh out of cookies. When he confronted his girlfriend (who said she didn’t want to argue over something so petty), she didn’t want to engage, and that’s when things got out of hand.
The Smoking Gun reports the man told police the argument started over cookies, he was upset that someone had eaten the last one, and he was angry at his girlfriend because she wasn’t taking him seriously.
When she tried to walk away, he followed her into the bathroom and assaulted her.
We’re guessing the defendant has since learned that they don’t serve cookies in jail.
