Top 10 Celebrity Arrests for 2010
Written by Robin Sandoval-March on December 27, 2010 – 6:34 am -HOLLYWOOD — 2010 has seen its share of celebrity, sports star and political figure arrests. So let’s go back a bit, (a count down if you will), to see how those on our list of 10 fared in the legal-go-round battle with… the jail turnstile.
(We’ve included several previously blogged about here on KeepBailing.com However, this is not an exhaustive list.)
#10 - Chris Klein
Chris Klein, best known for his role in American Pie, was arrested for driving under the influence on June 16th just after 3:15 AM on an alleged DUI. He was driving on the 101 Freeway, with his dog. He was later bailed out of the Van Nuys Jail. It’s reported his blood alcohol level was just about three times the legal limit in California, which is .08 percent. Rovers should never let their owners drive drunk!
# 9 – Russel Brand
Our newly married, Mr. Katy Perry was arrested for misdemeanor battery for an alleged scuffle at LAX with some over zealous Papparazzi. The couple was passing through the security checks when an attempt was made to photograph Katy’s skirt. We’re happy to report that Mr. Brand definitely made it to the Greek on time.
# 8 - Joey Porter
The Arizona Cardinals star Linebacker ended up in the Bakersfield Jail, arrested on misdemeanor DUI. He allegedly resisted arrest and battered a peace officer. Reportedly, it all happened outside of a Taco Bell at when Porter was asked for his license by a CHP officer. He refused and rolled up the window. He then made the unfortunate mistake of ‘slapping’ the officer’s hand. Ouch!
# 7 – Senator Roy Ashburn
State Sen. Roy Ashburn was pulled over by CHP officers after they noticed him driving erratically at the wheel of a state Senate-issued Chevy Tahoe. When stopped, officers noticed symptoms of alcohol intoxication. He was arrested and charged with two misdemeanors. One for driving with a blood alcohol level in excess of .08% and DUI.
# 6 – Redmond O’Neal
Redmond O’Neal, who happens to be the son of the late Charlie’s Angels actress Farrah Fawcett and actor Ryan O’Neal, was remanded back to jail after violating his probation for a series of drug offenses. O’Neal was sentenced to a 30-day, in-custody drug-treatment program thanks to his inability to stay clean.
#5 – Jason Wahler
The former realty star of “The Hills” was reportedly arrested a sixth time for drunk driving by the Newport Beach Police Department. Wahler was stopped and handcuffed by police around 11:00 p.m. on March 20, 2010, but he was released without bail on his own recognizance (“O.R.”) hours later.
#4 – Randy and Evie Quaid
The Quaids have been in and out of the news headlines in the past year or more – first for allegedly defrauding a Santa Barbara Hotel, then not showing up for their court dates. In the world of jails, judges and laws, if you’re asked by a judge to show up to court you’d better go, or there will be no ‘get out of jail free’ cards. Seems like they had to play the game over and over again.
#3 – David Cassidy
“Come on, get happy?” David was arrested on a DUI charge in Florida in November. The Partridge Family cast royalty was in his Mercedes Benz when he was stopped for weaving in and out of traffic, almost causing an accident. Oops, police also found a half empty bottle of bourbon in the car. Maybe he was rehearsing for a new role?
#2 – Paris Hilton
Paris, oh Paris. Arrested again in South Africa for allegedly smoking pot at the World Cup Match. Later, she was arrested in Las Vegas for cocaine possession. For a girl who seems to have it all, the world just doesn’t seem to be enough.

Chula Vista Faces Police Cuts
Written by Robin Sandoval-March on September 27, 2010 – 7:51 am -CHULA VISTA – It looks as if the citizens of Chula Vista will have to do a little more fending for themselves these days. In a new decision, thirty-three Chula Vista Police Officers were laid off last Thursday, due in part to job cuts stemming from city budget balancing. The new lay offs will go into effect on January 7th, 2011.
According to the Chula Vista City Manager, Jim Sandoval, “If we don’t lay these folks off, what we’ll be doing is closing down the libraries, closing down the recreation centers.” Sandoval authorized the layoffs in order to cut more than $12.5 million from the budget next year.
Chula Vista’s Police Department Chief, David Bajarno stated, “It’s very difficult to say the least. It’s a crisis.”
Once this new mandate takes place, the city will have approximately 0.83 officers for every 1,000 residents. The worst in the entire county. Fred Rowhotham, president of the Chula Vista Police Officers’ Association stated, “The citizens of Chula Vista need to be prepared to take care of themselves in the absence of professional law enforcement.”
As a caveat, these layoffs could be avoided, if Read more »

Written by Robin Sandoval-March on September 7, 2010 – 11:10 am -SAN FRANCISCO — The views must be breathtaking from atop the bay cities highest buildings. But I wouldn’t scale the outside of one just to find out.
However, that’s exactly what veteran “skyscraper climber” Dan Goodwin did. Using no ropes (just suction cups), he reached the top of the Millennium Tower right before 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The 645 foot building took about 3 hours to climb.
He ignored Read more »

Prison for L.A. Deputy Who Smuggled Drugs into Castaic Jail
Written by Robin Sandoval-March on August 5, 2010 – 1:42 pm -You can call it lack of judgement, or maybe even temporary insanity. But whichever way you think of it, you can never really grasp why a 2-year veteran Los Angeles Deputy would smuggle, get this — 161.5 grams of heroin, 51.5 grams of marijuana and 24.4 grams of methamphetamine into the North County Correctional Facility, Castaic jail, and think he’d get away with it.
Former Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy, Peter Paul Felix, was arrested in October on the charges of attempting to smuggle the drugs into the Read more »

Man Suing “Dog” Has His Own Legal Issues
Written by Robin Sandoval-March on July 31, 2010 – 12:48 pm -
Don’t blame “Dog The Bounty Hunter” Chapman. He was just doing his job when he located and arrested Hoang Nguyen for not going to court on several warrants. Mr. Nguyen is suing Dog for damaging his reputation when his arrest was caught on camera for the Dog The Bounty Hunter Show. Dog’s crew allegedly used pepper pellets.
But this past Tuesday, another arrest warrant was issued for Mr. Nguyen, and it doesn’t have anything to do with Dog. This time, it was for failure to file proof of completion for a public service program regarding his driving on a suspended license.
Seems this is about the 12th time Mr. Nguyen has Read more »
