Woody Harrelson & LAPD Rampart
Written by 888BailBond Bondsman on November 10, 2010 – 4:49 am -Oren Moverman is directing his new film, “Rampart” which stars Woody Harrelson. This feature film is due to release in 2011. Both Harrelson and Moverman worked together on Moverman’s film, The Messenger.
Harrelson’s role in Rampart is an LAPD officer who is involved in a division-wide scandal. This film is said to be based on actual events and also co-stars Steve Buscemi, Sigourney Weaver and Robin Wright.
James Ellroy, from L.A. Confidential will be co-writing the screen play along with Moverman.
For Harrelson fans, Rampart will certainly be a movie worth checking out, although it probably won’t feature any humor. Other adaptions of this real-life story were portrayed in the films Colors and Training Day. All dealt with the corruption, theft, cover-ups, and police officers involved in gang member hostility.
Another show that encompasses this real-life corruption story is The Shield. During the pilot, it was named Rampart but was changed to The Shield so that no implications of corruption case at LAPD Rampart Station would be suggested.
Look out for this movie starring Woody Harrelson coming in 2011.
