The Disney Star will be partying, drinking, and getting crazy with her girlfriends, she told US Weekly. In one scene, the coeds even wind up robbing a restaurant as a means of funding the trip. Although the edgy part is a far-cry from her off-screen persona, Gomez said she was up for the challenge and embraced the role. Viewers should keep in mind that movie-set jails are quite different from what celebrity female arrestees like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan experienced when they were booked into the Lynwood Jail, the Los Angeles County women’s jail.

As far as having concerns about her younger, tween-fans sneaking into the film, Gomez said she’s not worried. The film, written by Harmony Korine, will be released as independent, she said. It will be shown globally at a number of film festivals and will be less-easy to access than films released to main-stream theaters.

Production for the film is set to begin in the early part of this year. No word as to if a bail bondsman will be used by the Gomez character.

Gomez first got her start in 1992 when she was cast to play Gianna in Barney & Friends. Since that time she has stared in Spy Kids, 3-D: Game Over; the 1996 made for TV movie Brain Zapped; and has played varying roles in series such as Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place. She has starred in a number of Disney Channel Original Movies and currently has a recording contract with Hollywood Records. Her most recent single, Love You Like A Love Song is ranked number 23 on the The Billboard Top 40.

We try to avoid the LiLo stories, but every now and again, we have to cover it. So, you probably already know that yesterday Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner sentenced Lindsay Lohan to 300 days in the Los Angeles County women’s jail for violating the terms of her probation, but will require only 30 days if she meets immediate requirements of the judge..

The judge said full sentence, which she described as “putting the keys in the defendant’s hands“, requires Lohan serve just 30 days with the remaining time being temporarily stayed. If Lohan completes a mandated 12-days of community service at the county morgue and four sessions with a psychotherapist before her next scheduled court hearing in December, the stay will extend through mid-January.

Lohan is scheduled to appear before the court monthly progress-report hearings, according to court documents. Should she adhere to her community service and psychotherapy mandates, the remainder of her sentence will be stayed permanently. If not, Judge Sautner said, she will be required to serve the remaining time behind bars.

Lohan is no stranger to the Lynwood jail known as LASD Century City Jail. On this turn in court, however, Lindsay wasn’t shocked, only relieved that the mandatory sentence wasn’t longer.

Like you, we’ve followed Lindsey Lohan from child star to Lynwood Jail and back again. The new member of the Gotti movie cast could be facing some serious trouble when she heads back to court today, according to E!.

Lohan will be going before a judge for both a preliminary hearing on her theft case and a probation-revocation hearing to determine whether she’s been in enough trouble to be sent back to Lynwood jail, Los Angeles County’s women’s jail, immediately.

Here’s a breakdown of what the star is in for today:

Lindsey’s Preliminary Hearing

The prosecution faces the task of convincing a judge that there’s enough evidence to proceed with a trial in the theft case. E! News was told by criminal-defense attorney Troy Slaten (not involved in Lohan case) that the DA has the option of calling witnesses or the lead investigator. Slaten expects that prosecutors will rely on witnesses in this case.
This is because there will likely be a lot of people watching and it will help counteract stories from the media. It will also help bolster the probation-revocation hearing. Lohan could be remanded and spend up to six months in jail.

Lohan’s Defense Team Strategy

Slaten says he expects for Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Holley, to spend a lot of time cross-examining the DA’s witnesses to help poke holes in the evidence. Introducing their own evidence this early on could give the prosecutors an advantage.

The Judge

This isn’t the first time Lohan has faced a no-nonsense judge. Overseeing this case is Superior Court Judge Stephanie Saunter, who will not allow cameras into the courtroom, much to media and public disappointment, no doubt.

What are her likely outcomes?

If it goes in her favor, She walks out a free woman, the judge seeing no probation violation or enough evidence to be put on trial for a felony theft charge. Lohan absolutely refused to take a plea deal of no contest with some jail time.
If it goes against her favor? She gets remanded to jail immediately for probation violation. If she’s guilty of the felony theft, even more jail time.

If she gets remanded, she could be looking at 90 days in jail, minus credit for time served. With the overcrowding in L.A. jails, many people are doing only a fraction of their sentences.

A Van Nuys bail bonds agent, Stephanie Diane Johnson, has been charged with a felony of grand theft for embezzlement.

On February 3rd, Johnson was taken into arrested by the California Department of Insurance and taken to the Lynwood Jail, Los Angeles County’s women’s jail. If convicted, is facing a maximum sentence of three years in prison.

Apparently, Ms. Johnson was allowed to post bail and was released. Johnson’s arraignment is scheduled for March 4th at the courthouse in downtown Los Angeles.

State Insurance Commissioner, Dave Jones said, “A bail bond agent who steals from clients in order to use these funds personally is committing a breach of fiduciary duty. Individuals who perpetrate such acts will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

According to the Department of Insurance, Johnson executed 13 American Surety Co. bail bonds in Los Angeles County between February and April of 2009.

Johnson is being accused of collecting, from 12 of the 13 defendants that she supplied bail for, approximately $34,000 in gross premiums and also failed to remit $5,070 in net premiums. According to Jones, Johnson has kept those funds for her own personal use.

This investigation has also lead to revealing that Johnson also failed to return to court for another 11 bail bonds that totaled to $250,000 with a $3,250 premium. Those bail bonds have not been located and Johnson has not accounted for them.

Jones said, “Based on past experience, bail bonds that have not been returned by bail agents could have been executed to release suspects from jail and issued to courts without reporting to the surety company, exposing the surety company to losses equal to the bond value, as well a loss of premium.”

Last May is when investigators first learned of the scheme. Johnson met with investigators the following month and surrendered her bail license. Johnson’s case is being prosecuted by the Public Integrity Division of the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office.

BEVERLY HILLS — In a repeat performance to court this time, Lindsay Lohan expressed a look of ”shock and awe” when Judge Marsha N. Revel handed the screen queen a mandatory 90 day jail term for violating her probation. Her jail time will be spent at the Century Regional Detention Facility (CRDF), Los Angeles County’s Women’s Jail, also know as the Lynwood Jail.

Lohan will have some serious thinking time to do for failing to attend her weekly alcohol education classes, ordered by the Los Angeles Court Judge for previous drunk driving charges in 2007. The Judge issued Lindsay three 30-day sentences which include 90-days in a locked-down drug rehab facility. The sentence was apparently harsher than prosecutors thought would be handed down.

Judge Revel included the instance where Lindsay had lied, a fact the Judge didn’t take too kindly to. “There were a number of instances of [Lohan] not taking things seriously… It’s like someone who cheats but doesn’t think it’s cheating if they don’t get caught.”

Lindsay explained her passport had been stolen during the time she attended the Cannes Film Festival as the reason for her missing her mandatory court date. However, photos surfaced of the Herbie star partying in Cannes like it was 1999.

Further, Lindsay denied owning a pair of “party pants” laced with cocaine, saying they belonged to someone else. She later tested positive for cocaine following that arrest. And the charges just kept adding up when in June, Lindsay’s alcohol monitoring bracelet she was ordered to wear, read that she had in fact been drinking. A charge she also denied.

The Judge simply stated, “She lied, then lied prior to that.” Lindsay fought back tears in court stating, “As far as I knew I was in compliance with my programs… I wasn’t trying to get special treatment,” she added.

We’ll have to wait see what the final outcome is. Serving time at the CRDF jail in Lynwood for any length of time could be a frightenly harsh “reality check” for anyone; celebrity or civilian.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Conflicting reports last week have caused the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to investigate further allegations of misconduct by deputies who were involved in a dismissed drug case.

Tatiana Anjuli Lopez accused deputies of lying about the details of her arrest, as retaliation for her filing a complaint against them. She and her fiance were arrested in October on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs.

Lopez’ attorney, Thomas E. Beck, stated, “The crime report was deliberately falsified… The whole case was fabricated against my client.”

The report by the arresting deputy paints one picture, while the radio communications with dispatchers paints another. The Deputy claimed he drove Lopez in his patrol car to the Century Station in (aka Lynwood Jail). The radio reports show a completely different deputy transporting Lopez, according to court documents filed.

Ms. Lopez was in jail for two days, but was later released without further charges. Her fiance, Miguel Amarillas, was also released from a Los Angeles County jail. The D.A. later dropped the case completely.
