Quaid Bail Bonds Close to Forfeiture

Written by Bail Expert on November 11, 2011 – 12:27 am -

The bail bonds company that posted the $1 million bail bond for Randy and Evi Quaid is quickly running out of time.

In 2010 the Quaids were arrested, taken to a Santa Barbara County jail and charged with trespassing and felony vandalism for allegedly squatting in a Montecito home they previously owned.  The Quaids then skipped to Canada after being bailed out of jail citing the need to escape a cult that kills celebrities. In continued made-for-Hollywood twists, Beth and Duane Chapman of Dog The Bounty Hunter fame, recently issued a warning for the Quaids.

Dog the Bounty Hunter to Randy Quaid: You Can Run But You Can’t Hide

Written by 888BailBond Bondsman on September 20, 2011 – 5:25 am -

Randy Quaid has officially found himself atop Dog the Bounty Hunter’s “it-list”. Quaid, who is perhaps best known for his role as Cousin Eddie in the National Lampoon’s Vacation series, has been on the run with his wife, Evi, since 2010 after they were found squatting in a Santa Barbara home.

The two were charged with felony residential burglary and misdemeanor entering a non-commercial building without consent.  Although the Quaids were released on bail, they fled to Canada in hopes of avoiding further legal action.

Dog’s wife, Beth, has come out guns-a-blazing in a Sept. 19 blog post, warning “we are coming to get you.

Top 10 Celebrity Arrests for 2010

Written by Robin Sandoval-March on December 27, 2010 – 6:34 am -

HOLLYWOOD — 2010 has seen its share of celebrity, sports star and political figure arrests. So let’s go back a bit, (a count down if you will), to see how those on our list of 10 fared in the legal-go-round battle with… the jail turnstile.

(We’ve included several previously blogged about here on KeepBailing.com  However, this is not an exhaustive list.)

#10 - Chris Klein

Chris Klein, best known for his role in American Pie, was arrested for driving under the influence on June 16th just after 3:15 AM on an alleged DUI. He was driving on the 101 Freeway, with his dog. He was later bailed out of the Van Nuys Jail. It’s reported his blood alcohol level was just about three times the legal limit in California, which is .08 percent. Rovers should never let their owners drive drunk!

# 9 – Russel Brand

Our newly married, Mr. Katy Perry was arrested for misdemeanor battery for an alleged scuffle at LAX with some over zealous Papparazzi.  The couple was passing through the security checks when an attempt was made to photograph Katy’s skirt. We’re happy to report that Mr. Brand definitely made it to the Greek on time.

# 8 -  Joey Porter

The Arizona Cardinals star Linebacker ended up in the Bakersfield Jail, arrested on misdemeanor DUI. He allegedly resisted arrest and battered a peace officer. Reportedly, it all happened outside of a Taco Bell at when Porter was asked for his license by a CHP officer. He refused and rolled up the window. He then made the unfortunate mistake of ‘slapping’ the officer’s hand. Ouch!

# 7 – Senator Roy Ashburn

State Sen. Roy Ashburn was pulled over by CHP officers after they noticed him driving erratically at the wheel of a state Senate-issued Chevy Tahoe. When stopped, officers noticed symptoms of alcohol intoxication. He was arrested and charged with two misdemeanors. One for driving with a blood alcohol level in excess of .08% and DUI.

# 6 – Redmond O’Neal

Redmond O’Neal, who happens to be the son of the late Charlie’s Angels actress Farrah Fawcett and actor Ryan O’Neal, was remanded back to jail after violating his probation for a series of drug offenses. O’Neal was sentenced to a 30-day, in-custody drug-treatment program thanks to his inability to stay clean.

#5 – Jason Wahler

The former realty star  of “The Hills” was reportedly arrested a sixth time for drunk driving by the Newport Beach Police Department. Wahler was stopped and handcuffed by police around 11:00 p.m. on March 20, 2010, but he was released without bail on his own recognizance (“O.R.”) hours later.

#4 – Randy and Evie Quaid

The Quaids have been in and out of the news headlines in the past year or more – first for allegedly defrauding a Santa Barbara Hotel, then not showing up for their court dates. In the world of jails, judges and laws, if you’re asked by a judge to show up to court you’d better go, or there will be no ‘get out of jail free’ cards. Seems like they had to play the game over and over again.

#3 – David Cassidy

“Come on, get happy?”  David was arrested on a DUI charge in Florida in November. The Partridge Family cast royalty was in his Mercedes Benz when he was stopped for weaving in and out of traffic, almost causing an accident. Oops, police also found a half empty bottle of bourbon in the car.  Maybe he was rehearsing for a new role?

#2 – Paris Hilton

Paris, oh Paris. Arrested again in South Africa for allegedly smoking pot at the World Cup Match. Later, she was arrested in Las Vegas for cocaine possession. For a girl who seems to have it all, the world just doesn’t seem to be enough.

The Quaids Ordered to Jail by Santa Barbara Judge

Written by Robin Sandoval-March on April 27, 2010 – 7:41 am -

It just goes to show that no matter what your socio-economic background, social status, or celebrity status for that matter, the law is going to hold you accountable for your deeds.

Case in point, Randy and Evie Quaid. The Quaids have been in the news headlines in the past year or more – first for allegedly defrauding a Santa Barbara Hotel, then not showing up for their court dates. In the world of jails, judges and laws, if you’re asked by a judge to show up to court you’d better go, or there will be no ‘get out of jail free’ cards for you.

Judges don’t take to kindly to those that disobey their orders. Because the Quaids missed their day in court,  they were remanded to custody at a Santa Barbara jail with a $100,000 bail. Judge Frank Ochoa felt the couple were being disrespectful. He brought up the time they showed up in court and “showed off” their Golden Globe award. He did give them a $20,000 credit however for a previous bail they paid. Nice guy.

Rightfully, the Quaids apologized to the judge. They have another hearing this Wednesday. Hope they take the judges orders a little more seriously this time. And maybe they should just leave their trophies, and their pride at home.

Quaid Failure to Appear Leads to Bail Forfeiture

Written by 888BailBond Bondsman on December 17, 2009 – 6:49 am -

Actor Randi Quaid and his wife, Evi, don’t seem to be very good at math.  Last summer, the Quaids were accused of not paying the bill for their stay at the exclusive San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, Calif.  The couple allegedly tried to  use an invalid credit card to pay, then argued with the concierge and stormed off after their card was refused.  The hotel bill cost them $10,000.

But that hotel bill was nothing compared to what reportedly happened next.  Since the law-challenged couple failed to appear at a December 15 scheduled hearing in California, the judge immediately deemed them felony fugitives.  “The court forfeited the bail bonds that had been posted and issued new warrants for $40,000 each,” Lee Carter of the Santa Barbara District Attorney’s Office said.  “If the [bail bondsman] wants  his money, Read more »

Randy Quaid and Wife… Bailed Out The Easy Way

Written by Robin Sandoval-March on September 27, 2009 – 10:19 am -

They’ve Got A Ticket To Ride…

Randy QuaidHey, when you’ve made it big time in show biz, sometimes it just takes a quick ride down to the local bank to withdraw any sum of money you need; for any reasonable reason or item.

Uh, I guess it also takes celebrity status be jailed, and while still in custody,  have a sheriff personally drive you to the bank to withdraw your bail money.

As in the case of Rancy Quaid and his wife, Evi.  After spending a few hours in a Marfa, West Texas County jail, a Presidio County Sheriff decided he’d give them a lift to retrieve their bail money. The reasonable thing to do indeed.  Although it was said the celebrity was given no special treatment, Read more »
