Facebook Post Leads to Higher Bail for Ex-Deputy
Written by 888BailBond Bondsman on August 9, 2011 – 1:41 pm -Former San Bernardino County Sheriff‘s Deputy Nathan Gastineau is facing six counts of lewd acts on a minor and unlawful sexual intercourse. Judge John Martin increased Gastineau’s bail from $150,000 to $350,000 on Tuesday after reading a post on the defendant’s Facebook support page.
Gastineau is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a girl who was participating in the Explorer program for which he was the coordinator. The age range of participants in this program is from 14 1/2 to 21 years. Gastineau pleaded not guilty to the charges.

San Bernardino County Proposes to Charge Bail Bond Companies
Written by 888BailBond Bondsman on October 5, 2010 – 4:03 am -Reportedly, a proposal submitted to the Board of Supervisors suggests that bail bonds companies will no longer be able to have free advertising at San Bernardino jail facilities.
Sheriff Rod Hoops, proposal states that the county would need to charge bail bond companies a fee to be able to have their services listed throughout their county facilities.

Four Plead Guilty to Ties in Bail Bond Investigation

Six years later, 4 people, including a son of a sheriff, plead guilty to performing inappropriate bail bond practices in San Bernardino County.
Both, Shirley Tidwell and her husband, Danial “Boone” Tidwell, after pleading guilty to the misdemeanor charges, were sentenced to three years probation and a fine.
