Polanski’s Swiss Bail Set 4.5 Millions

It’s the story bail bondsmen around the world are talking about: A Swiss Court has just granted international film director Roman Polanski, 76, bail yesterday. The court reversed it’s previous rejection of setting a bail, saying it is now confident the high bond — 4.5 million — plus continued electronic monitoring of Polanski’s chalet in the Swiss resort of Gstaad, will compel him to remain in the country under house arrest.

Polanski Legal Team Looks for New Bail Deal

The Roman Polanski roller-coaster keeps on moving. The famed director of “Chinatown” and “Rosemary’s Baby,” continues his battle to avoid U.S. extradition. As of last weekend, Polanski’s French lawyers presented an even bigger cash bail offer for the release of the director.
With this new offer, Polanski and his attorney’s have requested the Swiss Court reverse the government decision which declines his bail all together. However, they continue to turn down his appeals, stating his flight risk is “still too high.” Polanski still holds citizenship in both France and Poland.
